It does suck - reeks in fact. On the other hand it is Constitutionally correct. The only way this situation fixes itself will be with a Constitutional amendment, which is highly unlikely just for all the reasons you just listed above. I do disagree with you on one point. What "political" group has nearly unlimited fundraising potential and nutcases to do it? The religious zealots, that's who. Tax-free PACs one and all. Roe V. Wade really is in deep doo doo as are numerous forms of free speech. And I know by law they're not supposed to be active politically (sic)... The whole deal sucks. Revolution is coming...
